Model Sheets, also called character sheets or model boards are used as a guide in the field of animation to standardize the look and or gestures of a specific character. They are most commonly used by animators and storyboard artists.
These are Wolf model sheets, drawn by Tex Avery.
These are model sheets that were used for a wolf character in Hanna-Barbera’s Droopy cartoons. This is the second famous wolf character developed by Tex Avery, the first one being most famous for his appearance in Red Hot Riding Hood.
The wolf character featured in these model sheets was more of a slow moving dim-witted character, with a heavy southern drawl. He was more deadpan as a character and the tune he often whistled to himself was the American Civil War song Kingdom Come.
He was voiced by the famous voice actor Daws Butler. Butler used the voice work he did on the wolf character above as a base for the voice of Huckleberry Hound.
This guy was always my favorite character!
