In the late 90’s Ridley Scott was going to make an adaption of I Am Legend. This makes me sad to see because it looks so amazing! I Am Legend has always been my favorite novelette. I probably read it at least four times a year. I wish this movie could have happened. I still hope that one day someone will just make a straight up adaptation of the book so we can forget about that Francis Lawrence directed shit fest of a film.

Almost four years ago I made two student films, both about zombies. I’ve always wanted to go back and remake them, or reedit them, but unfortunately while attempting to back up the source material, I lost it.
So all I have left is two poorly compressed videos on Vimeo, one of which has it’s credits affected by the compression.
The first film I made was I Walked With A Zombie, named for the famous zombie film from 1943. I had actually completely shot the film with different actors and hated it; Virginia probably remembers me calling her and almost crying to her on the phone I hated it so much (I think I did actually cry). I rewrote the script and filmed the final version in one day. I’ve actually taken the concept behind the film, the only zombie on the planet struggles to fit in with everyone else and live a normal life, and have been retooling it as an independent comic called Zombie Days. Zombie Days will actually reflect the original draft of the films screenplay, more so than the actual film does, which was 60 pages… and had to be cut down to 11 so I could actually film it with a zero dollar budget, haha.
The second film, Brain Meat, was also shot at the last minute. I had a crew lined up and they literally backed out on the day of filming because they were busy. I called my friends from Orlando and in about two hours I wrote a new film, called it Brain Meat, and filmed it in about two hours.
The problem with calling your friends at the last minute to make a movie is that your friends can’t act, and I was the worst of all (I play the evil apartment owner)! I made a first cut of the film and it was really bad…so I did the next best thing and turned it into a silent film, which in the end, seemed to work out for the best.
Now, these are only student films. They’re not critically acclaimed, or brilliant, they won’t change your life forever but we had a fucking blast making these and I have very fond memories making these films that I will never forget.
So, I invite you to watch my two student films, and hopefully you’ll enjoy them just as much as I enjoyed making them.
