Hey, remember that time that The Punisher went to Riverdale? It was glorious!
Back and front covers of Pepe Moreno’s graphic novel, Rebel. Pepe is the genius behind the awesomely bad Batman: Digital Justice (awesome illustration/design and concept, but a weak story in my honest opinion).
Here’s some early design, concept art, and storyboards from Bruce Timms Legends of the Dark Knight; which unfortunately never came to fruition.
Legends of the Dark Knight was a story Timm had come up with which involved two kids arguing over what kind of character Batman was. One kid argues that Batman is friendly and goofy like the 50’s Dick Sprang Batman. His friend argues that that is not what Batman is; Batman is this really old mean guy and he’s dark and gritty like Frank Miller’s version of The Dark Knight.
As the kids explain their own ideas about who Batman is the animation plays out in the style of Dick Sprang and Frank Miller’s versions of the caped crusader. At the end of the film while the kids are arguing Batman actually shows up fighting a villain directly in front of them; and even after they witness this they still can’t decide what kind of character Batman really is.
