King Diamond; my all time favorite heavy metal musician.
This is my cat, Tyrion. He’ll be two in a few months. He’s pretty much the greatest cat ever. I feel as if he’s my own child. He was named after Tyrion Lannister. For awhile we didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl so for a month we called him Arya and Tyrion.
I found him behind my work when he was only three weeks old. He and two other cats were abandoned by their mother. We found him covered in fleas and literally being eaten alive by ants. His eyes were infected and completely sealed shut because they had never been cleaned by his mother.
I took him to the vet immediately after work with my fiance, Virginia, and we got his eyes cleared, he was given a flea bath, and put on antibiotics.
The first night we had him he climbed underneath my beard and slept there for a few hours; he was so tuckered out. For a while it was touch and go. For the first two weeks we had him he only pooped once. And then he went another two to three weeks without going before we took him to an emergency pet clinic in Pasadena. He was given an enema and you could seriously hear all the nurses on duty laughing their butts off when he pooped… it was a lot of poop…
After that his bowel movements were finally healthy and regular. Apparently it was the formula we had been giving him; it was all the different kinds really. Some cats just don’t take to formula. For those first couple of months we honestly thought we were going to lose him.
But shortly after he was as healthy and hyper as can be. He’s a weird and strange and sometimes grumpy cat but I love him. To this day he still rubs my beard and tries to climb underneath it. He wakes me up a couple times every night rubbing his face against mine. The lack of sleep is worth it though because it’s adorable. He does it to my fiance now too.
His name is Tyrion, but we also call him Batman because his ears are too big for his head. He kinda looks like an anime cat; big ears, big eyes, and small narrow face. He’s our little Halloween Kitten.
There’s still a stigma out there about black cats. They’re the least adopted because people still honestly believe they’re bad luck. We have two black cats and they’re the greatest things ever!
Anyway, I thought I’d just tell you about my cat and best friend Tyrion.
