A sketch I did of my homeboy Castiel.
Broken City Blues by Brian J. Smith
Here’s the image I posted the WIP of before, scanned and colored. Gonna transfer the line work to a board and do a gouache painting of this scene as well. This was originally meant as a comp for the painting but decided to put some digital colors on the inked line work.
“Briron Maiden” a portrait of my fiance, Brian.

The phones and the net were down at work last week for four hours, so I drew this. I plan on drawing the entire crew.
When I hear people talk about the so called “War On Christmas” I always think about Aryan Jesus and the three wise men with automatic weapons shooting things up as if they’re in some Stallone or Norris action film. Well, this year the war on Christmas is over because Jesus is fighting back!

As an Illustrator, I like to draw things that look like they’re from a vintage animation from the 30’s. Here’s Dwalin and the Goblin King from Tolkien’s The Hobbit.
I got a new shirt available on RedBubble. I took my A Fistful of Datas piece and tweaked it a bit so it can be made into a shirt!
Doctor Who and Dune sketch designs for T-shirts and Prints by Brian J. Smith
I thought I would upload these sketches/designs to share with you guys part of the process of how I make my artwork.
Awhile ago I asked everyone to give me their requests about what kind of prints and shirts they’d like to see available on my shops. I got a lot of Dune requests so two of these designs are Dune. The other two are Doctor Who.
I’m still working on tumbnails on designs for Bill and Ted and Lost Boys, which were two things constantly requested.
As I start to work on these digitally I’ll upload more previews!
“Bilbo in his study” by Brian J. Smith
Finally! It’s done! I’ve been working on this for a couple weeks and finally I get to share it!
“Concerning Hobbits” Ink. Virginia Giordano.
Oh man. Finally done. Though I might do color washes later…So, the work of J.R.R. Tolkien is my life, and I’m constantly attempting to pay homage in my work. This time however, I felt like paying a little homage to Peter Jackson and the cast. I’m a huge fan of the movies and I don’t really believe in the “one or the other” mentality.
The piece in general is about Hobbits and their relationship with nature and their ability to remain unseen. I gave each Hobbit an item relating to the four elements, which also happen to reflect their personalities, for Pippin: Beer/Water, Merry: Pipe/Air, Samwise: Athelas/Earth, and Frodo: The One Ring forged in Fire.
